Esperance 1/3 to 4/3

Esperance was voted as having some of the best beaches in Australia, but it was scheduled to be a wet weekend over the Labour Day holiday weekend. Fortunately the rains never came and we got a chance to enjoy the white sands, but as you can see we were dressed for the predicted wet weather rather than the 30 degree swimwear weather that suddenly appeared.

We visited the beaches on most days here as they were very scenic. The sands were pristine white with aqua blue seas and rocky boulders on the foreshores.

We were lucky enough and very surprised to see a pod of over 20 dolphins swimming in the sea, playing and jumping through the waves.

This was immediately followed by viewing some sea lions near the old tanker jetty.

We visited Duke of Orleans Bay where although it was busy it was an impressive sight as you drove over the hill and the bay came into view.

It is very difficult to describe some of the beautiful coastal scenery around Western Australia and when we take a photograph we both feel that it doesn't do any justice to the actual real view.

Above is David in front of Duke of Orlean's Bay, but the bay is so large we couldn't fit it all into the photo.
