Wave Rock 6/3

We drove a 445km round trip from Ravensthorpe to visit the infamous Wave Rock. As we had travelled all that way we just had to do the obligatory surfing pose as expected by all tourists.



Jayne's surfing pose was just a bit better than David's and she managed to surf the whole rock !



We then visited 'Hippo's Yawn', a rock formation that looks like yes you guessed it, a 'Hippo's Yawn'.



We later visited Mulka's Cave. This is a cave which housed aboriginal cave paintings mainly of hands of aboriginal men and of Mulka. Mulka is an aboriginal legend about a colossal man who could not hunt properly because of his crossed eyes so he caught and ate human children instead. He later killed his own mother who had raised concerns over his actions, and he fled his cave and moved south. Mulka was tracked down in Dumbleyung by the aboriginal people from his area and was finally speared to death and his body was left to the ants.
