The Road to Broome 31/3 to 1/4
We embarked upon an 850km journey from Karratha to Broome. We made a short diversion to Port Hedland but there wasn't too much to see apart from the local industry. We were still travelling in the Pilbara region for most of the trip through tropical rain and very low cloud.

We stayed overnight at the Pardoo Roadhouse where it was just us and an emu. David tried his best to befriend the baby emu to prevent himself from becoming too lonely in the middle of nowhere overnight.

We were now in the tropics and at the end of the wet season. There was some flooding on the road and this is the natural car wash we drove through as we crossed the Great Sandy Desert. Only we never got to see any sand or any desert !
