Margaret River 9/3 to 11/3
As it was Jayne's birthday we decided to treat ourselves to a full days guided tour of the Margaret River Wine region. It started off with an alfresco lunch on the Margaret River with the Kookaburra's watching and waiting for pieces of raw steak from the cook.
After lunch and a few glasses of wine we visited three local wineries having been expertly informed how to wine taste correctly. Here's Jayne at the first, testing the clarity, bouquet and palate of the wine.

And here's Jayne after visiting the second vineyard having already tasted 17 different varieties of wine. We ended up tasting 23 wines in total and enjoyed every minute of it.
Not only did we try out the wines on our guided tour we also visited the local businesses and tasted Venison, local cheeses and hand made chocolate and fudge. But we just couldn't believe our eyes when we found a stick of Blackpool Rock in the Candy Cow Fudge Factory. It even had a picture of Blackpool Tower on it !

The following day we took a scenic drive to Busselton, with it's famous jetty which is the longest in the Southern Hemisphere.

It was a beautiful resort area and the first time we have seen anywhere busy on a Sunday for a long time.
We drove back towards Margaret River and called in at the beach area nearby called Prevelly Park, which hosts surfing competitions regularly. This is also where the mouth of the Maragaret River meets the Ocean.
And to bring an end to a great weekend David took to the Ocean and decided to go Kite Surfing. True or False ? You Decide !
