Lake Macquarie 7/11 - 12/11

Next stop was 200km down the coastline south of the industrial city of Newcastle and within 100km of Sydney. We pitched the van by the lake itself. The weather was a significant improvement here. The were some lovely sunsets over the lake about 7.30pm every night.

We drove down the coast to places like The Entrance, Terrigal and Umina.

We drove north of Newcastle to Port Stephens which is larger than Sydney harbour. Luckily the sun had come out and we enjoyed some relaxation on the beach.

Here we are at Nelson Bay.

We visited the Blackbutt Nature Reserve near Newcastle to see some of the native and not so native animals.
