The Barossa Valley 4/2
It was 40 degrees and we visited the Barossa Valley, Australia's leading wine region. It took us longer than we thought to drive there after taking a wrong turn and ending up in a national park on unsealed roads. The road signage in Australia is poor and you have to guess at some junctions.

It was David's turn to sample the wines whilst Jayne drove. He took full advantage of this starting with Jacob's Creek where he must have sampled at least 4 different tiples.

This is where the world famous wine comes from. There is literally a Jacob's Creek (Australian for a stream) next to the vineyard and visitor centre.

After visiting more cellar doors such as Peter Lehmann and Penfolds we visited Wolf Blass.

After a long day in the sun David had sampled more than enough wine and was persuaded to dip into his wallet and make a purchase in order to allow Jayne to sample some wine later. He's obviously happy about it ! or is that just confused over how easily he was swayed after so many enticing samples ?

David's favourite wine of the day was a sparkling wine, Jacob's Creek Reserve Chardonney Pinot Noir, very refreshing in 40 degrees.
