Hamilton 14/1

On our last day in Hamilton we decided to take some time to look around the local area. We had travelled quite some distances over the past couple of days driving for about 8 hours a day, so felt that we deserved a bit of a more relaxing day before we were on the move again.

We started by visiting the Hamilton Botanical Gardens, where we found this enormous tree which looked like it had mutiple trunks.

There was a bridge over a little lake that reminded us of Monet's paintings.

And below the bridge was this bird, preening himself in the sunshine.

We then decided to go for a bike ride to Lake Hamilton. Firstly we rode along the length of the river which ran past the end of our caravan and then around the edge of the lake.

So much for us having a relaxing day ! At least there were no hills for us to climb today it was quite a flat circuit to ride so it was good fun and a bit of much needed exercise.
